Assistant Professor in Composition, Rhetoric, and English Studies (CRES) at the University of Alabama

The Department of English at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position in CRES (Composition, Rhetoric, and English Studies) at the rank of assistant professor. The successful applicant will have a PhD in rhetoric-composition (or closely related field), an active research agenda with a primary emphasis in composition-rhetorical studies, and a record of effective teaching. Area of specialization is open, but we are particularly interested in candidates whose interests include rhetorical theory and/or history of rhetoric, cultural rhetorics, and non-canonical or vernacular rhetorics. The successful candidate may also help us to support the College of Arts and Sciences’ research efforts in cultural studies, global connections, and/or digital humanities. The successful candidate will maintain a productive research agenda, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, assist in curriculum development, and provide service to the department as appropriate.
