As discussed at the 2016 annual meeting and following detailed discussions at both the 2014 and 2015 meetings, the SECOL Executive Committee is asking for a vote on the three issues below by the SECOL membership, pursuant to Article 5 of the Constitution.
According to the Constitution, the balloting procedure is as follows: “By June 1, the Secretary will conduct a vote, by electronically distributing a downloadable ballot to the membership, with instructions for mailing or e-mailing the ballot back to the Secretary by October 1, anonymous balloting not being required. To take effect, an amendment must have the approval of two-thirds of those voting.” The inclusion of website voting (by logging onto the SECOL website as a member) does not preclude hard copy or e-mail voting, so if this is your preference, you will find a downloadable ballot on the website that can be sent as an attachment or via snailmail to the Secretary (cdavies@ua.edu) or to her University of Alabama English Department address.
